Dorothy Allison
The celebrated poet and novelist Dorothy Allison will come down to Small
Press Traffic for old times' sake. If you have never seen her read, here's
a chance to catch her in a rare intimate appearance. She is the most spectacular
reader I've ever seen. Maybe Jonathan Edwards in ye olde Puritan days
was better but I doubt it! She is the author of two books of essays, Skin
and Two or Three Things I Know for Sure, a book of stories, Trash,
a volume of poetry The Women Who Hate Me, and a novel, the best-selling
Bastard Out of Carolina. Her new novel Cave Dweller will
appear in March of 1998. Allison spent a lot of time in the small press
San Francisco writing scene before Bastard catapulted her to fame, and
she is one girl who has not forgotten her roots!
