Alfred Arteaga is the author of Cantos (1991), Red (2000) and House with the Blue Bed (1997); as well as the critical work Chicano Poetics: Heterotexts and Hybridities (Cambridge University Press, 1997). Currrently a professor of Creative Writing and Ethnic Studies at the University of California at Berkeley, Arteaga has received fellowships from the NEA and the Rockefeller Foundation. He edits An Other Tongue.
