Kenneth
Koch
A legendary king of the word, Kenneth Koch has published over twenty books,
most recently STRAITS and New Address. He was awarded the
Bollingen Prize for Poetry in 1995, and in 1996 he received the Rebekah
Johnson Bobbitt National Prize for Poetry awarded by the Library of Congress.
He is also a pioneer in Poets Theater, and most of his work in that field
has been
collected in The Gold Standard: A Book of Plays. Perhaps most famously,
he has shown the way to bring poetry into the lives and work of ordinary
people, including the very young and the aged, in several best-selling books,
including Wishes, Lies, and Dreams and Rose, Where Did You Get
That Red? Just when you think you know all about the "New York
School of Poetry," along comes the Joker! Join us for this special
evening.
