The
Woman Who Slept With Men to Take the War Out of Them,
a multi-voice book-play by Deena Metzger
Like Meridel Le Sueur, Doris Lessing and Maxine Hong Kingston, Deena Metzger's
world combines the political and the personal in a stunning mythopoetic
unity, and asks-in Metzger's words-"How can we go to the general without
using the weapons of the general?" In her novel (written in play form)
The Woman Who Slept With Men To Take The War Out Of Them we discover
how we respond to the duress, pain, conflict of our troubled century. The
play is directed by Nick Karavatos and performed by students in the NCOC
Poetics Program.
