Chilean poet, artist and filmmaker Cecilia Vicuña is the author of fourteen poetry books, published in Europe, Latin America and the US. She has recently exhibited her work at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Belgium, at the Castello di Rivoli in Italy, and in the l997 Whitney Biennial. Her book Instan appeared from Berkeley’s Kelsey St. Press this year, and earlier titles include El Templo (translated by Rosa Alcalá, Situations, 2001) and QUIPOem/ The Precarious, The Art and Poetry of Cecilia Vicuña (edited by M. Catherine de Zegher, translated by Esther Allen, Wesleyan University Press, l997). Vicuña is currently coediting the anthology 500 Years of Latin American Poetry for Oxford University Press.
